after a quick call to the executive on the other side, was surprised to hear that there is no British Council available in Mumbai!!!! The office premise address given (India Bulls) is no more, British council is only available at Chennai, Delhi and one of the south cities.

The British Council's Office is not there. I called on the given call centre number, it is somewhere in Noida or Delhi, as per truecaller. I still thought i should visit the place to get in-person information about certain courses. so i visited the place (on 23rd Nov, 2022) as it is still shown on google with address and the photos. On reaching this floor which had DBS plastered all over, the receptionist said the Office was closed down after covid pandemic. It was there with the library and all before. I got no more information over there. So now, MUMBAI BEING SUCH A HUB FOR BUSINESS AND EDUCATION, THIS OFFICE IS NOT IN MUMBAI AND ONLY IN Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai!!?? Wow! Mumbai is flooding with international schools and mumbai residents aspiring to be an IGCSE teacher should fly to Delhi to do a Cambridge 's teacher training course!? Seriously? P.S. Most people prefer offline course over online. I guess everyone has seen enough of "online" during the lockdowns.

The quality of the library online services for members is poor! Books that you request for are in circulation for over a year. Consequently, you do not get to read what you want to. Moreover, the pick up of books never happens on the requested date even after reminders and feedback. Lately, calls have to be made to a central office in Delhi (a call centre?) so there is very little chance of your problem being resolved. I have had problems with the pick ups on three occasions in succession, and in spite of complaints, no one has cared to resolve the problem- it still persists as of now! The library services have deteriorated and this is extremely disappointing. This is very unlike the British Council Library I once knew and loved! A real pity and great shame!

Pathetic people, useless and rude staff. When I enquired about the classes so I registered as you didn't mentioned any fees so one of staff called me he told me about your fees n all after that I felt that time and fees is not suitable for me so I said no straight away next to their staff is asking why did you enquir and wasted our time so I wanted to ask we can only ask if we are going to join? How pathetic is this you don't train your staff that how you should behave normally? Please I would suggest don't join such people they are just taking money and not teaching anything

Their collection is laughable. I took membership after I got admitted into an MA in English Literature because I figured - hey which library in the city could have a better collection of British/English literature than the 'British' Council Library, right? NO! They have TWO titles of Shakespeare, nothing for the majority of classical writers, almost none of the classics and certainly nothing of note in other fiction books either. They had maybe 10% of what I needed. I eventually took a membership at my local library which surprisingly had a much better collection.
